Share, Belong, and Grow

Happy Monday, and happy June everyone! It is official we are now in the middle of 2015. It is hard to believe, but I have been working on this blog for a year and a half now. Lately, I have been rethinking my reasons for blogging, why I started this blog, how it has developed, and in what direction I am heading now.
One of the main reasons blogging made sense to me was because it is a great way for me to share a kind of photographic content that I produce on a regular basis (one very different from the my portraiture business). Documenting and sharing my family life, adventures and trials has been a good way to stay in touch with friends and family all over the world, especially as we are moving about every year or so.
And this leads me to my second new reason for blogging, and it mainly has to do with the fact that I am seeking a sense of belonging and kind of community. Aside from maintaining already existing ties, I am trying to find interesting and stimulating connections with other mothers, artists, designers, bloggers, and creative people. There is a whole world out there, one with endless options and possibilities (which sometime can be overwhelming), but I do see ways to define who we are, to find our way and eventually carve our own path.
Now I find that blogging and all that stems from it creating, documenting, sharing, reflecting, can lead to personal growth. It promotes a constant revaluation of values and priorities, which leads me back to the essence of my blog “a creative outlet to compile, share and remind myself of what I find graceful and what I feel grateful for in life”. I am hopeful that blogging can add value to my life, stimulate my creativity, keep my priorities in check, and help me grow as a mother, photographer, friend, and beyond.
